Cult Movie Night: Napoleon Dynamite & Rushmore
Hold onto your tots, Cult Movie Night school is in session! Join us on Saturday, September 20th for a celebration of the back to school season with two oddball classics - the smash 2004 independent hit Napoleon Dynamite and the film that put Wes Anderson on the map, 1998’s Rushmore. As always, we’ll have specialty cocktails and cult movie night buttons on hand, plus pre-show entertainment loaded with film facts, video clips and other cultural artifacts to help you cram for the evening's back-to-back curriculum. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico, shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro, a morose Hispanic boy who speaks little English. Together the two launch a campaign to run for class president. 8:00pm: Rushmore (1999) Rated: R When a beautiful first-grade teacher (Olivia Williams) arrives at a prep school, she soon attracts the attention of an ambitious teenager named Max (Jason Schwartzman), who quickly falls in love with her. Max turns to the father (Bill Murray) of two of his schoolmates for advice on how to woo the teacher. However, the situation soon gets complicated when Max's new friend becomes involved with her, setting the two pals against one another in a war for her attention.
